Profile:
Ali Soroush is a Ph.D. candidate at Queen’s University under the supervision of Professor Keyvan Hashtrudi-Zaad, specializing in the design and development of home-rehabilitation robots for post-stroke patients. His research integrates biomechanics, robotics, and advanced control systems to create innovative solutions for healthcare and rehabilitation.

Ali holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Applied Mechanics) from Sharif University of Technology, where he developed a real-time surgical navigation system using optical-inertial sensor fusion. He earned his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on automated machine design.

With over a decade of experience in mechatronics and industrial design, Ali has founded and led multiple technology companies, contributing to creative product development, precision machinery, and educational tools. His work spans the design of CNC machines, biofeedback devices, and interactive learning systems.

Ali has authored numerous publications in international conferences and journals on topics such as sensor fusion, robotic surgery, and MEMS control systems. He holds four national patents in biomechanics and has received multiple awards, including best paper honors and national innovation prizes.

Ali’s research has been published in ASME IDETC and Applied Mechanics and Materials, covering topics such as micromirror stabilization, sensor fusion for surgical navigation, and biomechanical measurement systems.
