Biography

Ashkan is a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Queen’s University, working in the Interactive Robotics and Intelligent Systems (IRIS) Lab, and is a member of the Ingenuity Labs Research Institute. He earned his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Control) from K.N. Toosi University of Technology in 2022. His research focuses on rehabilitation robotics, haptics, telerobotics, human–robot interaction, and artificial intelligence in robotic systems. Ashkan is a recipient of the NSERC CREATE ADVENTOR Award and also serves as a graduate student representative for the Stephen J.R. Smith Faculty of Engineering Graduate Council and co-chair of the RA/CS/EMB Joint Chapter of IEEE Kingston Section. He has also served as a peer reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics.
